In his second novel, Noel D Page spins a tale that is as twisting as the very river his characters journey on.
Echoes of Araluen is a tale of searching, longing, and rediscovery deep in the mystical, ancient lands of the Muruwari people, set against the backdrop of modern times.
I thoroughly enjoyed 'Echoes of Araluen' from beginning to end. Noel D Page draws readers into the story from the first chapter with intriguing, relatable characters. The writing style is engaging, making it easy to become invested in the story and curious about how the journey would unfold.
Echoes of Araluen takes me in many directions as it shares a German father’s desperate search for his missing daughter, and when Hans garners help from locals, Rat, Sam, and Inca, they set off in Sam’s houseboat downriver to find the commune Utopia. When Rat disappears, the remaining three make for the destination with secret information. From there, many unprecedented events unfold, leaving the reader with emotions of happiness, acceptance, betrayal, and grief as the story progresses. The story left me hanging at the end.
A great story and easy read.
